Lamborghini Aventador

Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4 (internally codenamed LB834 [coupe] and LB835 [roadster]), is a two-door, two-seat sports car set to replace the Murciélago in the Italian automaker's lineup. It was launched at the 2011 Geneva Motor Show on March 1. It features a brand new 6.5 litre V12 engine, producing 691 hp (515 kW). It was designed by Filippo Perini of Lamborghini Centro Stile under the direction of Lamborghini chief of design Manfred Fitzgerald.

The development of a successor to the Murciélago was widely speculated in the motoring press as the supercar approached the end of its first decade in production. Spy photos published on the internet in January 2010 showed a camouflaged Lamborghini prototype undergoing winter testing.[26] In December 2010 Autocar published a test drive of the new prototype however very little was released. Even the name was a mystery up until it was reported that Lamborghini registered the name "Aventador" with the US trademark office.

Lamborghini History

Early 1960s

Lamborghini was unimpressed with the quality of the 350GTV, and ordered a complete redesign for the firm's first production car.

The 350GTV was reworked into the production 350GT; the company sold 120 of them.

The Islero was a sales disappointment, but faithful to Ferruccio's ideal of a reliable grand tourer.

1969–1970

The Espada was Lamborghini's first truly popular model, with more than 1,200 sold during its ten years of production.

The Urraco was the first clean-sheet Lamborghini design since the 350GTV.

1973–1977

The Countach, then the most popular and successful Lamborghini in history, was in production from 1974 to 1988.

The Diablo was the fastest car in production when it was released in 1990

1998–present

The Diablo would be Lamborghini's mainstay throughout the 90s, and was continually updated throughout the various changes in ownership.

The "Baby Lambo", envisioned in 1997, was introduced in 2003 as the Gallardo.
